Steve wrote his first song in 1978 then waited forty years to pen a second one. Since then he has released over thirty songs and continues to develop his range and style with each new release.

Introducing “Rivers, Roads and Sky” a musical exploration.

We are thrilled to announce the release of Steve McGrady's highly anticipated new album, “Rivers, Roads and Sky,” on Friday, 21st July 2024. This album marks a significant step in Steve's development as a songwriter and performer, containing his unique blend of genres that promises to captivate listeners who appreciate well-crafted lyrics and melodies.

“Rivers, Roads and Sky” explores themes of love, courage, and resilience rooted in human relationships and the natural world. Each track tells a story blending elements of folk, rock, and pop genres.  

The first five songs explore relationships, inspiration, hope, time and courage.  These are followed by a set of five related ones that, together, tell the story of how a happy and successful person begins to withdraw into isolation, ending up on the wrong side of the law following a significant loss.  After they reach rock bottom, an encounter with nature provides the insight they need to begin their return towards redemption.  The closing song returns to the topic of toxic relationships that he covered in his “Background Noise” EP and the single “Hard to Escaoe (Song for Chris)”.

Steve is joined on selected songs by the gifted guitarist, Pino Piletto and members of the Talent os Timeless musical community adding voices and instrumentation to supplement his own playing and singing.
